مروری بر ترکیبات مهم عسل و نقش آن در سلامت دهان و دندان

چکیده

عسل، شهد و ماده مترشحه محتوی قند گیاهان و گل‌ها است که توسط زنبورعسل تولید می‌شود. هدف این بررسی توصیف قندها، پروتئین‌ها، اسیدآمینه، آنزیم‌ها، اسیدهای ارگانیک، ویتامین‌ها، مواد معدنی، ترکیبات فنلی و فرار موجود در عسل و اثر محافظتی این ماده در مراقبت از دهان است. این بررسی کارایی عسل را در برابر عفونت استرپتوکوک موتانس، پلاک دندان و پوسیدگی، التهاب لثه، بوی بد دهان و سرطان دهان مورد بررسی قرار می‌گیرد. عسل در جلوگیری از اثرات وابسته به درمان سرطان های سر و گردن از جمله موکوزیت ناشی از شیمی‌درمانی، خشکی دهان و بهبود زخم‌ها مفید بود.
